Established in 1937, we're more than just a bowls club !

This year is a momentous one for the club - our two honorary nonagenerians have celebrated with parties this year, and we cam together to celebrate Bob Beeson's 90th birthday with members, family and friends at the club. It was wonderful to have everyone there, and we played rinks, triples and pairs to sort out a winning team - and the overall result of 60-60 shows that bowls was the winner ! On a glorious May Bank Holiday Monday, we were able to enjoy a fabulous day of triples bowls, with time spent socialising, having lunch, enjoying the new Crow Bar and celebrating the green which was bowling so well. In close round-robin games, following quarter and semi finals, a closely contested final saw the eventual winners Jenny, John (Stevens) and Nicky narrowly pipping Bill, Pam, and Lynn Kipps to the title. Congratulations everyone on a brilliant day.

Our club came together for the 2o25 awards and "Pie & Mash" evening before the start of the2026 season, and also to celebrate the new Crow Bar, our refurbished kitchen and changing rooms, knowing that we've made it through the winter and the summer months are ahead. Our club came together for a final time in 2025 to celebrate Christmas, and yet again, share a wonderful meal prepared by Stevens Catering PLC - a mammoth spread of Turkey, Salmon & Prawn, followed by "table puddings", shared with a significant amount of Brandy Butter and Coffee / Mints .... not forgetting the Bailey's ! Our team of 20 " Santa's Little Helpers " competed in the annual Christmas fixture against Popes Mead and whilst the result ensured that the hosts retained the trophy, a fabulous time was had by all with Mulled Wine and Mince Pies !

Peter's career now influences younger members to join bowls .....

Our club came together for a memorable night on Saturday 15th November to celebrate the 90th Birthday of CWBC's President, Peter Hounslow .
