Our club enjoyed fabulous weather, splendid bowls and a fabulous turnout to celebrate our 85th Anniversary Weekend.
On Saturday, Pam Redgate won the first "spider", with Cliff Langley winning a second at the end of the day.
We invited Team Hatton to play Team Hoskins, with both "Mike's" new to our club this year, and giving us the opportunity to bowl in a Triples competition in beautiful warm weather. Congratulations to Team Hoskins winning 57-50 overall.
A fine BBQ from Bob Beeson was rounded off with all types of desserts kindly donated by our members and social members, for which we owe a big debt of gratitude.
On Sunday, Andrew and Linda Taylor put together a terrific Mixed Crown Green Bowls tournament, this time in pairs. Unable to win for a second day running, Mike Hoskins and Bill Gibb were runners up to Jean Brown and Andrew Taylor.
Hoping to raise some money for new parasols, we did that ... and then some ...... around £50 for the weekend better off !
