As we move on, our updates to members will continue to be emailed, and the Committee have agreed to resume bowling for members who would like to return to bowl under the conditions and guidelines currently available from the Government and Bowls England.
For those who have expressed an interest in looking to return, we will be contacting you in due course with comprehensive details as to how this will be managed, and the steps that the committee are currently taking to prepare for your return to play.
At this stage, the committee is directly handling preparations for the return of play at the club (and required facilities), and we will be reaching out in due course for any offers of support if you feel able to help.
We are looking to hold induction sessions over the weekend of 20-21 June 2020 to enable members to visit the club – in small numbers – where we will guide you through the reopening and booking processes. It will be important to be familiar with our guidance and instructions for play beforehand.
Things may well change in the near future – the lockdown may be reintroduced if C-19 cases dramatically increase, or alternatively, we may be able to prepare for a further release on restrictions should this be announced. As a club, we are committed to following the guidance regularly published, and we are able to react accordingly if necessary.
We can advise that the Bowls England guidance currently remains as published – “You can play lawn bowls where facilities have reopened, but you can only take part in these activities by yourself, or with members of your household or with 1 person outside of your household, as long as you are able to maintain social distancing.”
However, Bowls England have requested that dispensation be given to allow pairs play between members of two or more households and a response on this is awaited.
In the meantime, remain safe and well.
