TUNBRIDGE WELLS TRIPLES BOWLS LEAGUE RULES

1. The League shall be known as The Tunbridge Wells Triples Bowls League.

 

2. The Executive Committee shall consist of a Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer all to be elected annually at the AG.M. All matters and disputes concerning the said League shall be dealt with by the Committee and their decision shall be final.

 

3. An AGM will be held once a year at which the members of the Executive Committee and each Club shall have one vote.

 

4. The entry fee shall be agreed at each AGM and shall be paid before the commencement of the season.

5. Each team entry to consist of 2 Triples. All players shall be paid up members of their respective Clubs. No player may play for more than one Club in that that Season. Names of all players must be entered on the Score Card and signed by both team captains.

 

6. League entries must be given to the secretary before or at the AG.M with the names of Club representatives. Every effort should be made to comply, but under special circumstances, the Secretary may accept late entries, up to 14 days after the AG.M.

 

7. All matches to be played under E.B.A Laws. Matches to commence by 6.15 pm. Captains to toss for jack. Result will apply to both teams. In the event of a player not arriving by the official start time they will be allowed 30 minutes to join the match (under the E.B.A Laws).

8. All matches to be played on fixed date. The only exceptions are:-

    8a.    By mutual consent, teams, if they so wish, may arrange for any match to be played at a date prior to the fixed date. Results to be forwarded to

             the secretary once played. If unable to come to a mutual consent then it should be addressed by the league committee to resolve.

    8b.    In the event of greens being unfit for play or inclement weather. Postponed matches should preferably be played before the last League Match

9. Scoring : 6 Points available per match (total) - Each winning Triple - 2 points, Any Drawn Triple - 1 point. Overall Match Winners - 2 points, Drawn Match 1 point. 

10. If at the end of the season there is a tie on points then shot difference will count. In the event of two or more teams being equal on points and shots, a playoff will decide the winner. Two Triples on a nominated neutral green.

11. Result cards must be forwarded by Captains at the conclusion of each match to the secretary either by email or post.

12. At the end of the season, the bottom two teams in each Division shall be relegated, and the top two teams in each Division shall be promoted. The format of the League for the following season shall be proposed and adopted at the AGM.

      12a.    Should additional teams apply to join the League following the agreed format at the AGM they will join the lowest division. However, should this

                 increase make the number of teams in this division untenable, the Executive Committee will adjust the number of teams in each division as

                 they see fit by moving teams up to the next division. No teams will be moved down to accommodate the new teams.

13. If during the course of a match a player has to leave the green because of illness or other reasonable cause and it is agreed by both skips that he/she cannot continue, then his/her place shall be filled by a substitute from the same Club who shall play either as lead or second. If no substitute is available then rule 13a will be used.

        13a.  If a team at the start or during play has only two players, then they will be allowed to play, the defaulting triple playing with 2 players uses 7

                 woods - 4 by the lead and 3 by the skip. The opposing triples will play with 2 woods each and the skip will use 3 woods. At the end of the game

                 25% of the defaulting triple’s score are deducted from their final score.

 

14.         The league will be unrestricted and open to Men and Ladies.
